Calligraphy

This publication is centred around a poetic verse and explores the intersection of tradition and modernity within Persian calligraphy. Inspired by Blackletter manuals (Fraktur & Rotunda) and contemporary calligraphic experimentation, the book functions as both an artistic archive and a personal visual journey.
Each page becomes an exploration of form, rhythm, and emotion. Using a wide range of handmade and unconventional tools, from crafted brushes to traditional calligraphy instruments, I investigated how material and gesture shape meaning.
Printed on Munken paper, the book combines tactile sensitivity with structural experimentation, including saddle stitch and sewn binding trials. Rather than presenting calligraphy as fixed heritage, the project treats it as a living system capable of adaptation, emotion, and contemporary expression. The book became more than a design outcome; it evolved into a space where personal memory, cultural identity, and typographic structure intersect.
